What to Read on a Cold Winter Afternoon

The last book I read was The Number One Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.  It is the story of Precious Ramotswe, the first lady in all of Botswana to be a detective.  I fell in love with the regular characters and with Botswana, although I have never been to Africa.  Mma Ramotswe, as Precious is known, is a sassy woman with a very strong moral compass.  I would love to visit her agency and sit outside drinking a cup of bush tea with her.  The way the author describes Botswana just makes you want to go there at once.  I have never before read a book that made me feel so peaceful when I finished it.  This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read them all.
