Teaching fire prevention is a very good idea, because,as they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It is very simple to teach children that lighters and matches are not toys to be played with. They can be made to understand that playing with items such as these will only result in harm to themselves or start a house fire. Older children need to understand that the lighter fluid that a parent uses to start the barbeque is only to be used by parents. It may look like a lot of fun, but if you do not know what you are doing, it can cause major harm and damage.

Many buildings have fire escapes and fire escape ladders. These are mostly found in older buildings where an indoor fire stairwell was not built within the building. Nevertheless, having a safe fire escape ladder is essential to saving lives. All fire escape stairs need to be inspected every year to make sure they are functioning properly and have not deteriorated. If there is a fire, people will be depending on the fire escape stairs to save their life. Fire escape stairs are mostly made of metal. The metal should be tested and given a stress test to make sure the stairs are safe and sound. If there is paint on the stairs they should be repaired and repainted with a rust proof paint as well to ensure against rusting. They may even need to be replaced with a more modern version of fire escape stairs. In conclusion, fire escape stairs are important and should be inspected regularly and kept in good working condition.

I love Kris Kringle. It is always such a huge surprise. Well for me it is. Last year I got a great gift for work. A person who I do not really like at work happened to buy me two fire warden kits. This was amazing as I thought she would have bought me something horrible that would be useless. Last year she gave someone a pair of odd socks when she received a massage voucher. I ended up giving her some perfume which she is constantly talking about. Normally her conversation revolves around designer labels and cosmetic surgery which can get a little tedious.

My house is fire safe box. It doesn’t matter what anyone tries to say about the heater that my boyfriend has recently installed into the living room for the family to have a nice place to sit in the winter. I love him for trying to do that. It tells me that he is almost ready to take the next step. He thinks that he will one day be the man of this house and help me to fix it up so that it can be a home. I am not going to give up on him because he matters a lot to me.

When ever I see fire hose couplings it often reminds me of my late father. He was a fireman and seemed to be constantly at work. In fact I think he must have worked seven days a week and was on call constantly. I remember him telling me about this horrible time he was called out at 2am in the morning to rescue a dog that was trapped in the house. He risked his own life to save the pet that was trapped on the second floor of the house. As soon as he came down the stairs they collapsed. It was perfect timing. I think it would be incredibly rewarding to put out fires. Maybe one day I will follow in my father’s footsteps.

I remember tripping over carbon monoxide alarms. Someone in the house had carelessly left it on the floor right near the staircase. I later found out it was my husband who was reluctant to own up as he thought I was going to shout at him. I heard the phone ring and ran down the stairs and all of a sudden I was on the floor. I was in agony. I happened to glance over and saw the dector on the ground. Fortunately I did not break anything and have recovered. I have told my husband to always keep it in the closet where it belongs.

It was the summer of June, 2008, when an ominous occurrence took place. As I was working at the local animal shelter in Houston, TX, I discovered my boss had started a meditation routine that involved lighting candles and sitting cross legged with her eyes closed for an hour a day during lunch. Now you see, I am open to all sorts of religious hokey pokey, but I definitely took issue with the safety of lighting a candle and falling asleep- regardless of whether or not you are sitting down or calling it “meditation”. I argued with her constantly about it, but she would be un-reactive and just say that I needed to “relax”. That’s when I realized I had to take matters in to my own hands, and that meant teaching this new aged hippie a lesson. I doused her desk and office chair in fire resistant fire retardant and while she was in the middle of snoring out a long breath full of “ohm”, I quietly snuck in and lighted a piece of paper resting on her desk aflame; then I snuck out undetected. I figured my stunt would burn some paperwork and scare some sense into the woman, but about 20 minutes later as I was mopping up dog urine in the halls, I heard screaming. The fire retardant I used failed to keep the desk safe, and in her deep subconscious state, she didn’t notice the room burning up until she was literally cornered behind a silk plant fighting the flames off with rose water and incense sticks. Though, I don’t care for the woman, I rushed in to rescue her. A flaming piece of wood sparked up and hit my shoulder, it was probably from some kind of secret Buddha shrine hidden in the room. Anyhow, as the shrapnel hit me, my life flashed before my eyes. I realized that I have never been happy and have wasted the majority of my life arguing with numskulls. I stared into my bosses scared eyes, and apologized as I turned around and ran out. Although, my boss was killed, along with 32 other workers and 250 dogs, that day changed my life forever in a good way. I’m now in prison and although I am a captive animal, I now understand the fail safes of controlled burns and the unreliableness of fire retardants.

Fire Proof Boxes are very source for storage of important articles/things. Nowadays as all the family members have started earning, it is necessary to have an electronic fireproof box at every place. When nobody is at home it can save all our important documents as well as many more things. Even in offices we can use them to store important files, which we do not use quite frequently. Fireproof boxes are available in different sizes as well as in different ranges. It has got toughened surface which protects the things kept inside. This way we have got very good option to have such fireproof boxes which we can even carry wherever we want to. It looks pretty small but has got very good application.

Fires are terribly destructive; so we must prevent one. However if fire occurs unfortunately, people need easy and quick final exit-escape routes apart- to avert loss of life. Unlike hotel/office rooms, final exit door has extra security arrangement; so there are some problems. To overcome this and facilitate easier exit various devices are provided in buildings. Push bars, push pads, door panic bolts, and automatic sliding doors with electromechanical override are some arrangements. Fire-exit needs lock from outside when premises are occupied; it should be easily open-able from inside in a fire-emergency to let people out easily by suitable door-knob design. Redlam panic bolt, suited for turning single external doors to emergency exit-door, secure the bolt in closed position with a glass tube; once glass is broken bolt slips and unlocks door. Similarly Kingpin bolt works with pulling the door-handle; Kingpin breaks into two letting bolt retract and open the door. Broken pieces remain with bolt only and so there is no fear about injury.
