I Can’t Remember

October 28th, 2011

I have never caved into peer pressure as far as I can remember. I do whatever I want and this includes the pressure coming from my parents. I will take the opinions of others into consideration when planning my actions, but they never completely sway me in one direction or another. Of course all humans will be somewhat influenced by peer pressure since we are social creatures that care about what others think of us. For example: I could really want a green pair of shorts but they are too small for me and have a brown stain on the seat. Other people will think poorly of me if I do not wear properly fitting clothes and if there is an embarrassing stain. Thus, I will not buy these shorts even though I really want to.

Essentials

October 25th, 2011

If I had only three things to eat for the rest of my life they would be as follows: meat, dairy, produce. My current diet already consists of these three things and they are essential to a healthy life. Meat is delicious and hard to turn into fat so I can eat a lot of it and feel full without gaining as much weight as otherwise. Dairy is also delicious and calcium is good for the bones. As a woman I would like to avoid developing osteoporosis when I am older. Produce includes both fruits and vegetables which have vitamins without which I could not live. They are a fantastic meal, can be cooked in a variety of ways, and are also low in calories.

Dancing

Pae and Sarah performing the Melbourne Shuffle...

The most beautiful thing I have ever seen was someone I loved dancing. The dance itself could not be considered beautiful (it was the Melbourne shuffle) but it gave that person great joy which in turn filled me with awe. It was beautiful because this person I loved was both talented in the style of dance he performed, and completely absorbed by it. To see a person put into a state of such mental bliss and oblivion is rare and a privilege. The fact that I truly and deeply cared for this person also enhanced the situation. Dance is an expression of the soul and I was seeing who they really are.

Rest Away

October 17th, 2011

If I won the lottery I would buy myself a used car and give the rest away. My life is perfectly fine as it is and I do not need anything else. Stories of previous lottery winners going bankrupt have turned me off the idea forever- I already see how easy it would be to go crazy and purchase more than I could afford. Even if I managed to avoid overspending, a sudden change from buying luxuriously to reverting back to good spending habits and budgeting would be unpleasant and hard. I do not look forward to the experience and sincerely hope I never win the lottery.

Good communication

October 14th, 2011

The family tradition I shall attempt to pass on to my children is that of good communication. Growing up, I suffered one parent who had very poorly developed communication skills and was blessed with one that was nearly an expert on the matter. I learned that good communication between parents and their children enables both parties to entrust much more information with each other and leads to closer relationships. I would like to possess the same close relationship with my own children so that they never feel like they cannot tell me or my spouse something for fear of being rejected, judged, or punished.

For my honey moon

October 11th, 2011

For my honey moon I should like to stay at home and not be bothered by anyone but my new spouse. I choose this because travelling is expensive and stressful. Many arguments between couples occur on vacations and it is counterproductive and a waste of money to spend a honey moon in poor spirits. Anything that could be done on a honeymoon could also easily be done in the home, and if the purpose of the vacation is to have uninterrupted bonding time with your partner, I would simply lock the doors of my house and not answer the phone.

We use a lot of electronic appliances at our home that produces a lot of carbon monoxide but if you use carbon monoxide alarms it will help detect them.

Peace with Life

My greatest achievement would be the preservation of my peace with life and the maintenance of my good humors. Though I can still be considered as a young person, the previous events of my life have led me to take on many more responsibilities than is average for a person of my age. Such responsibilities would cause even adults to harbor some resentment, but I have somehow managed to make it through it all without any noticeable ill-effects. I can look at myself today and be proud of who I am and what I have done, whether in the interest of myself or others.

Human Time

October 3rd, 2011

If I were to live underwater for two years I would be a human because a step down in terms of intelligence would lead to an unsatisfying life, particularly if I had some vague sense that my mind was less than it used to be but could not understand why. I would live inside some underwater craft such as a submarine or a city encased in a globe (such as seen in many science fiction movies) to ensure that I would not drown. Even If I did drown I am sure I would not mind because it is better to be a dead human than a living fish.
