THE FUN THINGS

June 28th, 2010

Fun is actually a rather subjective word. If I take it as something that makes me happy – perhaps reading, riding a bike, going to the beach, hanging out with my boyfriend. I’m not a very social person; I don’t enjoy big parties and clubs. My idea of a good time balances between snuggling up with a good book or hanging out with a few very select friends. But I think the book wins more often than not. Movies are good too – any genre or language is fine by me. Put me up with a good snack and maybe some good company and I’m good to go.

NOMS

June 25th, 2010

My grandmother has launched her Operation Leftovers in full force on me now that it’s just me and her, and the maid. I’ve been having leftovers for days. Last night’s dinner was left over stew, without the meat, which she compensated by putting in two boiled eggs. I can’t really say I’m complaining but she tends to insist that I finish ALL the food at the table and when I least expect it I’ll catch her staring at me despairingly and mutter about how fat I’m becoming. I had actually wanted instant noodles but she maintains that one should always have rice for dinner.

Have you installed fire safety equipment?

June 23rd, 2010

Fire equipment is an essential OH&S component of every home and business. You should know where all of your fire equipment is and how to use it. At home, you should have a fire blanket and a new wet chemical fire extinguisher in the kitchen and a smoke alarm in every room. Batteries must be changed regularly, as a dead smoke alarm can’t save your life. In your business, you should also have appropriate fire safety equipment. Small business has similar requirements to the home; while large businesses have greater requirements. Speak to your local fire brigade about wet chemical fire extinguishers and Fire Equipment Maintenance.

CREDIT CRUNCH?

June 22nd, 2010

The current recession has rather faded from my radar of active consciousness, or to keep it simple, I don’t really pay much attention to it anymore. After the massive failure of trying to secure a job in the UK after graduation, that’s about the only time the recession has really affected me. I hear we’re recovering, the world as a whole that is, but I realize that they’ve been saying this and that about the recession for months now and I don’t really see anything happening. I think we all should just be prudent; it helps either way – recession or not.

MY DAY SO FAR

Well it’s been raining since morning and a song on radio (“Wild World”) has made me realize that I’ve not been prepared for the ‘real’ world. All the deceit and manipulation. And irresponsible, lazy adults. I mean we spend at least a third of our lives being told to grow up and be responsible and now I’ve got people at work way older than me who can’t even be trusted to get their work done and need to be hounded all the time. So that’s my day so far – getting to grips with ‘the real world’. But anyhow, so far so good. Nothing any more remarkable than yesterday or the day before that.

No Pets

June 14th, 2010

One thing that I feel like my life would not be complete without is a pet. Right now, I have three animals and they are my best friends. I have always had at least one pet, since I can remember. Cats are my favorite. Having a pet cat is more like being owned by a cat rather than the other way around. Dogs are great pets because they are so lovable and usually obedient. If you tell a cat to come to you, it will usually just look at you like your stupid. But, if you tell the dog to come to you, it usually will. The only reasons why I would chose a cat over a dog is because of the fact that dogs tend to tear my belongings up more than cats do and also dogs are much more difficult to potty train. I have had several hamsters in my life and I loved every single one of them, but they bit me a lot. I have had one bird before. It was a mean parakeet, but even though it was not very nice to me, I still loved having it in my home and hearing its music every day. The only reason I gave that bird away was because I became homeless and could not keep it with me any more. I have had about three rabbits as pets. They are very skittish, very timid and easy to frighten creatures. However, once they get used to a human and begin to trust them, they are actually very fun to have as pets because of the fact that they do interesting and funny things when they are exploring or playing.

Lonely Small Town

June 11th, 2010

I currently live in a small town, which I do not like at all. It is the place where I grew up and I am really tired of it. There are trees everywhere, which are beautiful, but there are more trees here than there are people. The place is a very lonely place to be. The people are not nice at all. When I buy things from a nearby store, the clerks usually have a very grumpy attitude. This town even feels smaller to me than it used to. I did not mind it so much when I was younger. Years ago, me and my friends and family would go to a nearby river and swim. We quit swimming there when we realized that there were way too many dead fish floating around in it. There were also a lot of snakes there. This place would be a nice place for people who love to go camping and enjoy hiking through the woods and do not mind the fact that the town just feels so lonely.

The Day’s Clothing

June 8th, 2010

Today, I wore a brown jacket

Which I have had since I was in high school. My half-sibling bought it for me with the money out of their first paycheck from their first job. I wore unlatching socks because I have not had the money to go to the laundry mat and get anything washed, so the only socks I have left are ones that do not match with each other at all. I also did not have any clean underwear so I had to wear shorts underneath my pants. My pants were stretchy light colored blue jeans that have a bellbottomed shape. The pockets in the back button up and one of them has a picture of a flower on it. My shirt is a forest green t-shirt with glittery words on the chest area. I also wore a hair bow to keep my keep my hair in a ponytail.

Key Concern

June 7th, 2010

Fire safety has become a key concern these days one has to make sure if the surroundings he is working or living are safe and up to the safety norms so afff fire extinguishers must be installed at your surroundings so that if in case fire is caused one can handle it at the initial stages on personal level, fires are one of the key reason which have been causing danger to both life and property. so don’t just ignore that one does not need to install any equipments for the prevention of fire , every house and workplace needs proper installation of afff fire extinguishers , these should be placed close to places which are more likely to be prone to heat or fire like kitchens heating machinery etc.

If I could have anything in the world, it would be a permanent home. My family has always moved from place to place. We have moved well over twenty times that I can specifically remember. My half-sibling has bone and joint problems that cause a lot of pain. I suspect that moving so much heavy furniture throughout our lives, ever since we were little kids, has caused this. Now that we are both in our twenties, we still have to keep moving. If it was just up to us, we wouldn’t have all this heavy furniture, but we have a parent and a step parent who want to keep their furniture and they claim to be in too much pain to move it themselves and they have no one else to move it for them, so me and my half-sibling has to do it for them. The work is just too painful. Therefore, if I could have anything in the world, it would be a permanent home, so that I would never again have to move.
