There is nothing more relaxing and satisfying than planting seeds or cuttings and watching them grow into full plants. I love gardening and since the weather up north does not always allow for working outside in the garden, I also love to grow things in my home. I love to plant everything, from herbs to vegetables and even cacti. A lot of work is involved in maintaining all the plants, but it is worth it. Especially when the time comes to harvest my own fruits, vegetables and herbs, or use flowers to create bouquets or table arrangements. On top of being fun, I also save money in the long run since I can eat and use a lot of what I grow.

The funniest thing I have seen happened to my aunt while we were driving down to Florida to visit friends. My aunt is the kind of person who takes her looks very seriously and was proud of the fact that she looked young for her age. She was also paranoid about aging and at the time of the road trip she was only fifty years old. We stopped at a McDonald’s in New Jersey and the woman who took our order then asked my aunt for her AARP card before paying. My aunt wondered why and then the woman said that all seniors over 65 get a discount. The look on my aunt’s face was precious and I had to go off and laugh, because that was the worst thing that could have happened to her.

Cheap water fire extinguishers come in various types, depending on the type of fire they are intended for. Water based. An acid and bicarbonate react to produce carbon dioxide which propels the water out of a hose and on to the fire. Only for fires not involving chemicals (for example, in a chemistry lab, any alkali metal present would explode dangerously). Other non-water liquids. In the past, carbon tetrachloride was used in a class ball to throw into the fire, where the rapid expansion caused the gas to expel all the oxygen, so putting out the fire. Unfortunately, the heat created poisonous fumes, so it was fairly quickly outlawed. Powder. Carbon Dioxide is used to propel a fire smothering powder out of a “horn”. Used on electrical fires, and oil/fat fuelled fires. Gas. Carbon Dioxide (large extinguishers) or a variation of a halogen-carbon inert gas (small extinguisher can like a hairspray can); either smothers, or smothers/cools the fire and flammable item. Used on oil/fat fires and electrical fires in particular.

Last week was for the most part fairly normal. I had to work, go shopping and take care of my children. However, on top of the mundane things in life, I also had to go out and purchase everything needed to put together Easter baskets, color eggs and some candy for the holiday weekend. The hardest part about getting the things needed for Easter was to keep the items hidden from my four year old son so that it would be a surprise for him. After coloring eggs together with my children and of course cleaning up after that messy experience, I also had to hide the baskets before they woke up on Sunday.

The most expensive item I have ever purchases, besides house and car, would be my stove. It has a stainless steel exterior and ceramic cooking top with six burners. It is a larger appliance, with many great features I often take advantage of. This includes the self-cleaning and ability to boil water in under a minute. Since I often need to boil water, this saves a lot of time and makes preparing meals a lot easier. It is also energy efficient and thus saves money, because it requires less power to run. It also matches the other appliances in my kitchen. However, it did cost more than $2,500 which is more than I ever spent for an appliance up until that point.

The perfect car, in my opinion, is one that looks great, has plenty of room and is safe to drive. It also has to be comfortable and inexpensive to drive, as well as have a five speed manual transmission and turbo diesel engine. One car that beats out all others and can provide all of these features is the Audi A4. This car is made great and even though it has a diesel engine, it is extremely quiet. It also comes with a lot of luxury features without an incredible and unaffordable price tag. Since the turbo diesel engine is very efficient, it also averages 48 miles per gallon which is great at a time when fuel prices are high.

While studying at college, I took many different scientific electives for my major. One of them not only fulfilled a requirement that needed to be completed for graduation, but also was on a subject that I personally find extremely interesting. This course, called Greenhouse Management and Production, was fascinating. Not only did it provide information about what went into running a greenhouse and how to grow crops in them, but it covered the modern technology available nowadays to effectively and efficiently run a greenhouse. It covered green alternatives and many proven techniques actually used by nurseries. It inspired me to one day open up my own nursery or at least have my own large greenhouse on my property for personal use.

A building and its occupants need to be protected from the dangers of a fire and one of the simplest ways to do this is with a powerful powder fire extinguisher. These are portable devices that are designed to cope with small fires in an emergency situation. The aim of using them is to put out a fire before it gets out of control, thus averting a potentially fatal situation. There are various extinguishing agents available with some of these including water, foam, dry powder, wet chemicals and carbon dioxide. Each has its own advantages and is capable of dealing with different types of fire. The best type for use will depend on the type of building under consideration and the likely type of fire that will need to be dealt with. However, for safety purposes it is important that buildings are supplied with one or more, as they can be life savers in an emergency.

Generally speaking, I love all kinds of animals and that makes picking out a favorite difficult. However, there is one animal that stands out and which I do consider to be my favorite. This animal is the dog. I especially love large dogs, like Mastiffs and Cane Corso. Dogs really are a person’s best friend, because they are extremely loyal and many are willing to risk their own life to save that of their owner’s or someone in the immediate family. Dogs also make great guards and ensure the safety of the home. On top of that, they are also a lot of fun and make great walking companions. Dogs also love to play and are great for children to grow up with.

When it comes to websites, my personal favorite is Facebook. This is because there is so much that can be done on the site and it does not even cost the users any money to register or use the applications made for the website. Although I keep in touch with my own friends and family through Facebook, I also have made new friends around the world who share the same interests as I do. This especially is true of people who like playing the same game applications that I do. The games are probably the best part of Facebook and my favorites are Farmville, Bejeweled Blitz, Petville and Mafia Wars. The fact that they are played with friends and family makes them more fun, because we get to help each other out and try to beat others who are not part of our group.
